Kyle and Maddie make my heart glad. They are both so overtly delighted in having the other. She knows he will love her all her days and he knows she is almost too good to be true. The ease of love that flowed between Kyle and Maddie made my job a breeze. They know how to love one another well and public affection at the local coffee shop was no problem. Maddie has a sincere love for all things Waco. As such, we hit up the uber fabulous Common Grounds - a hallowed place for all quality locals - as well as the classic suspension bridge, taking a different angle than usual. I adore all the color from this session as well as the fact that Maddie is a native Chicagoan (like myself) and sported her Cubs tee with pride. I am so looking forward to their November wedding. Congrats you two!

Rosie and Matthias were married at our local church here in Waco. Choosing simplicity in their adornments so as to allow for a full guest list, Rosie and Matthias were surround by a great multitude of dear friends and family on their wedding day. The excitement of the guests for this marriage was palpable and the energy level so high I feared it might carry me away. The worship service during the ceremony was joyful beyond measure. I found myself overcome with greatfulness at witnessing a wedding such as Matthias and Rosie's.

Count them. Nine bridesmaids. Nine.

People get ready because when Avery's full bridal post hits the blog it is likely that faces will melt, ladies will faint, and rainbows will appear out of nowhere in the sky. Absolutely stunning, Avery made this vineyard reverberate with life. At one point we stepped out into a field and she was instantly surrounded by the most perfect butterflies. Avery is, as best I can describe, the person closet to a real life Disney princess as I have ever met. She exists with a bountiful loveliness that simply radiates round about her. I am so looking forward to being a part of her wedding come July.

Rosie is magnificent. She is fearfully and wonderfully made and incidentally one of the most talented, giving people you'll ever meet. Being a dancer, a musician (electric bass - what, what!), and absolutely hilarious makes her a catch to be sure. Rosie was married to Matthias this past Sunday here in Waco. This entire session I could not escape how much Rosie reminded me of a figurehead - the maiden carved into the prow of ancient ships. Figureheads were both symbolic of the name of a ship as well as a display of the wealth of the King or royalty that owned the vessel. This girl is extravagantly lovely, and such a perfect example of what being a bride is all about. I think it is evident that with one glance of her eyes this woman could move the heavens and then some. Rosie - my sincerest congratulations. Matthias - you, sir, are very blessed indeed.

Casey and Karie are engaged! Life is full for these two - Karie is in Law school and Casey is working towards a degree in engineering. Add to that a June wedding and you have a very full schedule. We took this engagement session from late afternoon into the evening and I love how it's as if the sunset were designed just exactly to match Karie's coloring. Have a great weekend everyone!

Halle is 6 months old! She is a very happy, sweet, observant little lady.

Halle shares her house with Kealty - a great dane. Kealty is super sweet, but as it goes with great danes, a bit clumsy. Mama Kimberly keeps everything under control and we had a great time. They all kept me moving like crazy and we got some great shots of what life is like for a very big dog and a very petite person.

Here is little preview of a bridal session I did this week. The entire post will come in a couple of weeks, once this lovely lady is married. Truth be told, this is not a bayou, but it makes me feel like I am in the deep South. Have a great weekend everyone!

Katelin was married yesterday at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, TX. Though rain threatened to ruin the day, her coordinator set up the event outside during light showers in the hopes that the sun would come out. As fate would have it, just as Katelin and Blake were saying their vows, the cloud cover broke and the most beautiful evening light shone on them while they committed their lives to one another. Katelin is so beautiful just in general but especially in spirit. It was good and right that her dream of being married outside came to pass. It was my great joy to be a part of her wedding day. We had so much fun getting to know one another during her bridal session at Laguna Gloria and here are the favorites. The images from the wedding are stellar and I so look forward to sharing them here. Until then, here is the lovely Katelin.

Sam and Courtney are one of those couples that everyone loves. Their engagement was widely celebrated and the wedding will be an event of so much love and excitement. I have had the privilege of knowing Sam and Courtney separately during different seasons of my life - including during and post college. They are two of the most sincere, genuine, and joyful people you will ever meet. The pairing couldn't be more perfect.

Dagen and Avery are the sweetest couple. They have a kind of vintage relationship that is full of romance and charm. For instance, Dagen has loved Avery since they were in high school, though dating did happen until college. Their freshman year the two could often be found skipping class and spending their afternoons in this lovely field of wildflowers walking, reading, and generally falling in love. Dagen has made Avery a quilt and a wooden bench (coming in part 2) from scratch as gifts. And *my favorite part* once Dagen knew he wanted to marry Avery, every time he found a bobby pin on the ground he would pick it up, ask God if he could marry her, and keep the tiny pin. He gave Avery the box of bobby pins when they got engaged. Romantics never cease to make my heart glad. Dagen and Avery - I am so honored to be a part of your wedding journey.

The dress Avery is wearing was her grandmother's. Avery said that in the 70s her mother and grandmother shared this dress and now it is hers. :)

Karenna is a senior at Baylor. She is so full of energy and excitement and gratitude. As the first member of her family to go to college, her attitude about being in school refreshed me and warmed my heart. Everyone in her family chipped in to get her a class ring and the love she has for her family members just radiates whenever she talks about them. She will go on to complete her PhD at Baylor and Waco is lucky to have her!

If I had to choose one couple who has surprised me the most over the past bit of time - in style, energy, and humor - it would have to be Kirby and Susan. Susan arrived to my studio in her sweats and house shoes, being uncertain of what to wear. She then opened her trunk only to have more stiletto heels and items in dry cleaning bags than I could have possibly imagined. I adored spending the evening with this couple and Susan's sister Sarah - who is a riot. The group of them are the type that just welcome you into their history, inside jokes, and ultimately their family. We are a fantastic match and I enjoyed this crew tremendously.

Congratulations to Brian and Elizabeth! Although both live in Boston currently, they are Texans born and raised. It was because Brian was wearing a Texas Rangers baseball cap on the subway that Elizabeth walked right up to him and started a conversation (this after living in Boston for 8 months and meeting not a single Texan.) And so it was written for these two to be together. We had the most fantastic day for pictures up in Dallas and headed right over to the arboretum. Our experience at the garden was fantastic - we walked in, climbed all over everything, changed out in the open, and generally did everything you oughtn't. Not only did no one take notice of us, but we also didn't pay a dime. Thank you fortune! We ended the evening at a quirky little used book store in the Lakewood area. Such a great session with a couple I am so glad to know. Brian and Elizabeth - I can not wait for the wedding!
